Welcome to Zi Guitar, a one-man operation building boutique electric guitars base in Orange County California. Zibo, the luthier and founder of Zi Guitar, began his guitar building journey few years back, after more than a decade work in banking and finance field, in 2021 he finally decided to pursue his long-standing love for music and guitar where he saw his future.

 

Being a guitar collector himself and with twenty plus years guitar playing experience, Zibo is extremely passionate about achieving great tone, unique sounds for electric guitar. Zi Guitar custom-built telecaster has been described by many guitar players as traditional and subtle, understated yet complex in their details, finishes, and Tonel characteristics.

 

Working with timber is a very organic process, the sanding, the polishing, the oil rubbing, everything is done by hand here at Zi Guitar, the design language and building philosophies not only considering the unique voice and sound of the instrument but also considers comfort, durability, playability, and functionality.

 

Each and every guitar is unique and tells its own special story. From the species of the tree to the wood, from the hands of a guitar player to the music they played on the guitar, to the joy and happiness that brings to you and me. It is such a fascinating thing to think about, as Zibo often says: "As each of my guitars is built, I'd like to think I give it life".
